What is the book about? For all its rewards, family caregiving is hard. After years of caring for my aging parents and working with clients as a mental health therapist, I was feeling drained. After my parents passed away, I decided to reimagine their house in ways that would help me grieve their loss as I reclaimed my own life. I wanted to uncover the house’s beauty, dust it off, and maybe reinterpret it. I wanted to bring the house alive. The process has helped me work through my sadness over my parents’ final struggles and appreciate the fullness of their lives. It has also helped me find myself again and my way forward.
