My mom’s garden
I’m finally tackling the garden my mom loved so much. She left behind a file drawer full of carefully labeled folders with her notes on groundcovers, sun-loving perennials, etc., as well as her collection of gardening books. Mom’s attentions weren’t particularly drawn to interior design, but she knew her way around a flower bed. I feel close to her as I look for new spots for the flourishing giant iris that has outgrown the home she gave it. She would be so proud.
We replaced the old pump, and the fountain is working again.
At the Guesthouse. Fledgling gardener that I am, I do know my way around sun-loving, deer-resistant planting. Here, allium, Russian sage, long-blooming salvia annuals, and pachysandra have found a home.
